After the success of their first singing showcase earlier in the year, staff at the Artz Centre were keen to push on and reach new heights with their next Singerz production. On the weekend of November 7th and 8th, staff and students presented ‘Fright Night’ an evening of musical performance that used songs from a much darker background.
The students had been pushed a lot harder than last time in order to progress and further themselves more, and this shone through on the night as each and every student rose to the occasion to deliver a performance worthy of a London stage. Vocal coaches Mike Ashton & Laura Keating had endeavoured to reach new heights by choosing more challenging pieces than previous productions, and this decision proved to be the right one as the students thrived on the challenge to show their parents and surrounding community how talented they really are.
Add to this a new array of advanced lighting and visual effects, and the whole event proved a huge success. One parent said “Why pay hundreds of pounds to go to London to watch a show when there’s this much talent and entertainment right on your doorstep”
