The Artz Team where tasked with producing an end of year stage production with the current crop of year 6 pupils at Woodland Community Primary School in Skelmersdale.
The script chosen was RANSOM, A play written by Artz Director Mark Ashton. The cast and crew where given just 6 weeks to put the show together before the opening night at Glenburn Sports College Theatre for a packed audience of family, friends and teachers.
Director Mark Ashton had this to say;
I was delighted to be asked back for a second year running to work with year 6 on something like this, before they leave to embark on their journey through high school.
RANSOM is a challenging play that requires students to learn many lines and take part it some tricky ensemble scenes. I want to pay tribute to their hard work, effort and commitment throughout. The show was a huge success and clearly an enjoyable experience for all concerned.
I also want to thank Woodland Community Primary School for giving us this opportunity. It is great to work with a school that are always looking for fresh new ways to promote the arts. These types of links really help children understand the opportunities that are available to them and help us to identify new talent across the community.
