The Artz Junior Academy successfully completed their first production of 2013 with an action pack performance of the brand new Ransom written by Director Mark Ashton. This entertaining “who done it” was staged at Glenburn Sports College Theatre over two nights and was the first time in which many of these young students had appeared on stage.
Veronica Bennett, a teacher at Glenburn had this to say;
“This evenings Artz Academy production at of RANSOM performed in the Arts Theatre of Glenburn Sports College was fantastic! The cast comprised primary school children aged 5 – 9 yrs old, who were absolutely incredible. They performed a whole range of drama skills including improvisation and mime to enthusiastic audience. The performance was a highly entertaining whodunit and they delivered it perfectly, their timing was outstanding. DON’T MISS IT!”
Since the production the response has been overwhelming, this was a huge challenge that many where doubtful could be achieved with children so young. The play will hopefully be published later this year and I am now in talks with local film makers to turn RANSOM into a feature length film.
